Question New Member Here--

I am looking for information---a friend has a 2000 stock Camaro--he says it has a 350 --a 4 speed (with overdrive) automatic transmission .

Does all of this make sense?

If everything is correct, what rear end would it have in it and what would the ratio be?

What is the average MPG for this vehicle?

What is the average weight for a 2000 Camaro coupe?

Thank to all...

If it's a stock 2000 with a V-8 it's either a Z28 or SS and would have the 5.7L(346cid)LS1 engine.
The trans would be a 4 speed auto with 4th being an OD gear.
Rear is probably a 10 bolt posi, the 12 bolt is a very rare option in the SS cars.
I forget the gear ratio options for the autos, something like 3:23's or 2:73's depending on how it was ordered.
My 2001 SS has 3:42s but it's a 6 speed stick,my '93 Z28 with the auto had 2:73s..
Here's a spec sheet:

Not with a V8,even the cop cars were classified as a Z28s but they were more plain jane without power windows etc..
In fact the SS cars are even Z28's that were sent to SLP to be converted into Super Sports, my SS even says Z28 on the title.
The plain jane coupes were all V6 powered.

Probably the best way to tell what equipment the car came with is to check the Service Parts label on the driver door. The picture below is a picture from a 2000 Camaro SS. Notice each option is given a three digit RPO number.

1. The V8 engine installed is designated by the RPO LS1 and an automatic trans would be labeled MX0.
2. The rear axle gear ratio is 3:23 shown by the GU5 RPO.
3. The mileage rating on the window sticker was 17 city and 25 hiway.
4. A Z28 coupe had a curb weight of 3439 lbs.

Hope this answers your questions.
