Hey guys, what's up?
I'm a lurker around here, and I figured it was time that I posted an intro thread.
My girlfriend is the owner of the camaro I'm working on. Personally, I don't so much like working on the car, but I love driving it when it's running well. nothing like a v8 and RWD, eh?
Her car is a 1992 RS, 305 with an auto. Of course it has the tacky "25th Anniversary" plates on the dash. It's a shame it's in bad shape.
So far, I've replaced her entire ignition system, with the exception of the distributor (the pickup coil was replaced, however), done a simple tune-up, and kept her on a more strict oil change regimen. This weekend, the car will get new motor mounts and a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, and all the other goodies to go along with that. Next on my agenda is fixing her trans hesitation problem. I'll start with a fluid replacement and a filter change. If that doesn't work, I'll consider a replacement trans or perhaps dig into her current trans and repair it instead.
I expect to be posting questions about her car that I can't answer with search. So far, search has been really helpful, thus I haven't had the need to post any.
While I'm typing all of this out, I'd like to take the time to thank the forum staff, the owner(s) of the site, and all major contributors to this site. Without a website as nice as this one, I might have given up on her car and had her buy a Honda.
Rag on me all you want, but I'm a Honda guy. I just can't resist the raw power of a v8, though. I just grew up with Hondas around, and I first learned to work on Hondas, specifically old Accords. An 89 Accord is my current daily driver. With over 199,000 miles on it, i certainly can't complain, expecially when $500 replaces the entire car quite readily if I shop on craigslist.
Hope to make some friends, but not too many enemies here!

Hey there and welcome! (saying this and feeling like a veteran at this forum, my 2nd post, haha)
Sounds great about the work on your girlfriends car, isn't it something special to come home from work, get a beer and head to the garage.
So your a Honda guy, hmm....well, I grew up working on Volvos, I actually have a Volvo Amazon sport from 1966 that I work on...just for the fun of it.
But I love my Camaro.
Take it easy.
