i'll get right to it.
i'm about to start on the wifes 1978 Camaro.
in the barn since 1983.
here is first problemi need tosolve. I'm putting aulm. finned rear drums on . need to know when was the last year GM put the four bolt backing plates on the Camaro ( does 1976 sound right )
my understandingis that the best low costrear brake set upis the 91/2" alum. drum with 7/8"whl. cyl. or earlystation wagon 15/16" whl. cyl.
the GM /Chevybacking plate with four bolt holes and two bolt holes for the whl. cyls and Premium riveted Bendix ( not trick out shoes but reg linings) two set since you use the long shoes and not the short ones, better holding force . also you drop 10lbs. over std. drums.
this set up was used years ago . can you guy help me here and my i on the thr right trak???
as for cost it really cheap. alums drums only ran me $30
the hook is the backing plates .
i know ther is a huge number of guy out there that have info.
