New to board and 69 Camaro
Just wanted to say HI. I finally bought my 69 Camaro. I had one back in high school, and have wanted one again ever since. It's actually not here yet, but on it's way. I sold my 2001 twin turbo C5R 427 Z06 vette to effectively buy this. Actually it's a "driver" car now, nothing special (350 plain jane camaro), but my plans are basically to make a "G-machine" out of it. LS3 and 4L80E, nice paint/wheels and tires. Interior is already pretty mint. If anyone elsse has done the LS swap, I would love to hear any lessons learned. I'm VERY fammiliar with LS engines (from the vette), but can always learn more about the swap and the miscellaneous little things I'll need. Also looking for recommendations of vendors who have decent cutomer service and good prices...

RE: New to board and 69 Camaro
Sounds like your headed in the right direction... Late Model Vette for a 69 Camaro!! Cant wait to see it. I havent gotten into a swap yet, I'm still running the original 4 bolt main 350 just freshined up and few goodies thrown in. As far as vendors, I assume you meant 1st Gen stuff so i'd suggest Rick'sFirstGeneration for sure, then CamaroCentral, NationalPartsDepot. Alot of guys use YearOne but you can buy the same stuff cheaper other places. With Year One alot of times your just paying more because They have to pay Chip Foose for his endorsements!! Welcome to the Forum!! We want to see pictures when she shows up!!!

welcome aboard!
I use Rick's First Gen for almost everything on the Camaro
with the LSx swaps though, I don't think Street and Performance can be beat with their engine harnesses. they are the best out there for that and they walk you though the process so they know excactly what you need. right now we're putting an LS1 into a 1938 Chevy pickup, but we're using and 700R4 instead of a newer computer controlled one, and as another twist we are putting a tall intake off of a 5.3 Chevy truck, to keep with the truck theme(looks more like a "tunnel ram" intake underneath or tall hood). after talking with Street and Performance, they gave the perfect harness. plug and play AND the right lengths of wire too.

RE: New to board and 69 Camaro
The wife agreed to let me get the LS3/4L60E last night.[sm=bounceybounce.gif] I already have a new RS grille (with hideaway headlights), new weather stripping, and center console with shifter (along with new column to get rid of the column shift) on the way. Unfortunately, me and the wife will go through about 5 million different paint schemes before we decide on something we like. I'm planning to paint next spring/summer. Any ideas? We want something a little different than every 69 Camaro out there but retain the classic look.
