That's a nice '99, love the T-tops.
It is a small world. He ended up buying the car for $1200.00 it has 81K miles on it. Yes it was in Winchendon. Came with two car covers as well. I keep reminding him how lucky he is, because when I was his age I had my eye on a '71 red Rally Sport and it was sold before I could buy it. Granted that Rally Sport had a 350 in it....... but it's still a nice car. We had to add the emblems back to it. I taped off the headlights and painted those this past week. trying to figure out if it had fog lights or not. We are planning on painting the grille arear or what I call the mouth. I bought a used foglight from a guy in Templeton, he didn't have two unfortunately. My Son's car does have the foglight switch but I can't find any loose wires up under the nose.
Winchendon was a little haul for us, we are in Central Mass in Millbury. it was about a 45 minute trip each way.

thanks .not to far though, no you got a deal on that car looks clean ,yes now i remember the even lower miles too ,great on gas pepy 200hp an like said the 5 speed hard top, the kids want plus there worth a bit more you did well ,you may want to tell him while its quick for the year ,most cars will beat him in a race so dont race it ,now the z28 he can move up to one day ,but great start dont know his age but i did not have a camaro till i was 40,i had 83 ta gold series car when i was young was fun, there sharp looking cars an the ground effects make them look so much better, alot time the front piece comes off on those ,another i dont eevr do with my camaro is parelell park the cars either as the rims an or ground effects can hit too

fog lights they sell a nice aftermarket set for like $35.00 with all you need ,this was the deal of the year 2016 an it had the z hood 94 zs8 37k miles red for $3700.00 i wanted to borrow the money any way i could, rob a bank no, at the time but had to much money in another car my 95 406 ss clone 98-02 look as you can see this car was sweet it was on CL less then a week it was gone, guys could not understand why i would want a car with no title ,but hear you dont need one for older cars an certain other states too,an the guy who sold it said the price was low couse it was automatic an only had a registration, did not know the value was like 2 x that or close, those are the deals i look for but rarely the right time right place sometimes ,,my 95 has seen alot of work an 10 years this year with it 2 engines a new front end an alot more, man that car was sweet i seen a few other deals to but to far away

Welcome,
You are going to want to do a pressure test on the coolant system. You can borrow the tool from most chain parts stores. The 3800 is known for intake gasket failure and if yours has not already been done it could fail at anything time. Sometimes when they fail they leak coolant into the oil and wipe out the motor so you want to keep an eye on it. There is also 2 plastic elbows under the front of the intake that will crack at some point. It would be a good idea to check the heater hoses for dripping at the connection to the water pump and check the water pump weep hole on the bottom for staining. As a general rule if you keep the coolant system sealed and clean the engines should make it to 1/4 million miles.
Avoid the China/ebay clutches, you can find hundreds post of people regretting that purchase. In many cases it ends up being a redo in a month or two. Even the low end AC delco unit is no where near the original clutch. I like the center force dual friction clutch, It will cost you 2-3 times the cheap clutch but you will out last the original factory clutch. I have 100k on mine and it is still as smooth as can be.

yes while the car looks great, how it ran was important how does the dexcool look, actually from looking at your pictures from the ouside that car looks better then mine .mine actually had a few rust issues under the car we fixed an the car ran like a top though an has since i bought it ,there should be no junk in the radiator or the res as well .i am guessing you ran it but did not drive it couse of the clutch an opted to trailer it might have said can i do the clutch hear if its not to bad then drive it away ,though i dont know how much work it is other then one should do one for under 300.00

Funny you mention the coolant res. I opened the other day and noticed it was rust colored and crappy looking. it does run and runs well. We did tow it, guy said it needed a slave cylinder. we haven't had a chance to dive into that yet. I will look further into the coolant issue today as the weather warms up.
