my new 99 SS
well sort of, its just a z28 but i bought it and it needed a fender and i figured since i would be painting it anyway i ordered a ss hood, wing, and a new set of wheels and tires and also bought the badges to finish it off. the car has a 100k on it but i repainted the whole car and it looks like new again. i love the way the car turned out.

Hey, welcome to the forum, nice looking ride you got there. I like the SS look, but me personally hate when people badge a car other than the trim it was built. But that's just me.

Personally... I dont think theres anything wrong with rebadging a car. I do have a true SS Camaro but if it hadnt of been one I would have made it one. I dont see the harm. I see people making 69's into Z28's because they love Z28's but they just arent out there everywhere to be had. So its like a tribute to the car they love. Some people paint them up to be Yenko's, why not? Who's gonna pay the price they want for Yenkos these days. Enjoy your Camaro no matter what it is... I like the SS so good for you. Welcome to the Forums... Glad to have you here with us.

Well scooter, there's a big difference I think between the two. On one had you have a 67-69 car that's usually been highly modified and therefore the whole car has been changed. But my problem is when you take a pretty much stock car and add just enough to pass it off as something it isn't. I obviously don't have any problem with adding SS hoods/spoilers/whatnot, just the badging.
Sorry to hijack the thread man, you do have a great looking car and this is the last I will say on the subject if someone keeps there mount shut ^^^^^ also.

Welcome to the Forum. Did you change the spoiler as well or did you buy it like that?
Actually the differences between his Z28 and an SS are near none. All of the SS s had Aluminum drive shafts and 3.23 gears which were both available to the Z28 so he may have everything a factory SS has. That being said, I think if you like the way the SS looks why not change the hood & spoiler but keep the Z28 name. The Z28 is a special badge that has only been used on one car. If I had a Z28 I would probably have changed the hood & spoiler but I would have kept the Z28 badges. But that is all just opinion. The important thing is that you're happy with your car.
