My 86 Camaro
Well im 17 and went looking for a first car when i found a 1986 chevy camaro. i purchased it for only $500 because it needs some work, but i was able to drive it home. I plan on getting it all fixed but it may take a while due to a low income.
It definitely needs some work but i figure it will be a fun project.

ok i just spent all day working on some of the issues.
step #1 figure out why it has issues starting. this was caused from a loose and rusted positive battery terminal connection. i used a wire brush to get all rust removed and tightened the connection. it starts beautifully now.
step #2 fix all the rust along the bottom of the car. i sanded off al rough spots on and around the rust.then i painted on some weird thing that stos rust and chemically converts it into primer. this stuff was amazing. it smoothed out all rust spots fairly well and made a nice base primer to paint over.
step #3 paint over the fixed spots. i only used spray paint for now becayse i plan on having it professionally re-painted after summer.
step #4 re-paint all black body parts (mirrors, lower body trim, door handles, headlight areas). this was very time consuming to cover all parts i did not want painted, but well worth it in the end.
step #5 vacum interior and wash/polish exterior.
all done for the day
i think it came out decently well for a days work
idk how to post pics on this too well but you can check out all my pics at

Hey man, looks like your gaining on it. That's alot like my first car, 87 camaro 2.8, white. Have fun with it and don't let the problems get to you. Seems like your winning the battle already.
