Default Just another introduction.

Hello Folks,

So I made the plunge and created an account here for a couple of reasons. The first being that I've been pretty much raping these forums for information for over a year so I figured I'd at least let you know that the answers to questions posted do actually help not only the original poster, but others as well.
The second being that it's about time for me to begin asking questions of my own :-)

For the record, I have a 2001 base Camaro Convertable that I purchased last year more or less as a project car.

It had been in (altho I didn't know it at the time) 2 previous accidents both involving the front passenger side. So I am dealing with not only mechanical issues, but body and alignment issues.

It's the original 3800 6 cyl engine/auto trans with 130,000 on it now.

Seems to run good, but also seems to have a lazy lifter that ticks at low idle (tried seafoaming and that helped a little, and today I did the Mystery Oil thing to it)

So this year while I'm also driving it I am doing the body work on it and that's almost complete.

I've replaced the inner fender passenger side, the radiator mount, the drivers side door (that's another story) and put new aftermarket headlights on it since the original ones were fogged.

Thats all I can really think of at this moment that's revelent. So Hi, and thanks for all the info I've gotten already from you fine folk. Looking forward to more as I delve deeper and deeper into my pockets in my futile attempt to spend many times the book value of the car to get it the way I want it LOL.

Yep 10w30 and like the rest of my cars always changed under 3000 miles. I don't have any pictures yet and it's been raining for the last bleepin month but soon as we get some good weather I'll snap a few.

Ok so I managed to find a few minutes here today when it wasn't raining and took a few snaps of the car. They are in my album and here is one of them.

Hopefully that shows as a picture here in the forum rather than a link, but we'll see.

Edit: By the way that green house in the upper left corner of the picture is mine.
