Default how to identify vintage gm camshafts

I have been talking to someone on line about a possible purchase of a hi-performance camshaft. it supposedly was a comp cams piece. i asked the person if they could i.d. the cam. i told them that if it had letters and numbers on the distributor gear side of the cam (the back) then i could look-up ,on=line to get the specs and i.d. the cam. well, to make the story short, the only #s were 1247,anywhere on the cam. and those were at the backside of the cam, where i told him it may be. i have since then ,looked at the camshaft, and measured the base circle and the cam lobe, and calculated the gross lift to be.330". x1.5=.490 actual lift, or .330x1.6=.528 actual lift. my guess, by looking at the cam and lifters is its a GM solid lifter cam. the person i talked to said that the cam has been in the basement for 20+ years. it appears to be a gm camshaft, but its been some twenty+ years since i have seen one. the only drawback to positively identifying it is, that it has no GM i.d. marks on it at all. it does have a red band on the front, and a red band on the rear of the cam. it also has a K-1, CWC, and a D5 designation along the length of the cam between the lobes. is there any oldtimers or GM authorities who may be able to i.d. the cam for me?

In your "my profile" at the top of every page, in the "subscription preference" there is an option that you may or may not have clicked that will send you an email everytime someone replies to a topic you posted in or started. That's the only idea I have of why you got a reply, because I did make a post here of "welcome to the forum......blah blah blah...". As for what's with the Bigblockhemi screen name...well....I will have an old Hemi one day...I think the new ones suck ***** but...I will have one and I will have the 454 in my Iroc. I was really hoping for the 454 this winter but it's not looking like it's going to happen...my money tree dies and I can't find a new one, lol.
