at least it wasnt a 400 word paragraph of all caps run-ons.... which i guess makes u my favorite newbie of the week [8D]
2 ways you can do it:
if you click the "post reply" button you will get the advanced posting screen. it really is pretty similar to the "Fast Reply" because we stuck about all the features we had in the fast reply. but at the bottom of the text box will be a link that says something like "upload picture". this can be used to take a picture off of your computer and will have it in a link for us to click on. nobody likes this way lol, its not as pretty as....
Option 2!
get a photobucket account or some similar photo-hosting deal. they will give you a DIRECT URL (that is emphasized because if you try to post something that has any % symbols, or html formatting it wont work, so make sure the URL is the exact address of the image with no modifications). once you have the direct url copy it and come back here.
in the controls (starting with the Bold, italics, and underline buttons above the text box when you are posting) the button furthest to the right is a "Add Image" button (if you put your mouse over it the words add image will come up). its yellow and looks like it has mountains on it or something.
click this button. a thing will come up. put your URL into the box. and click ok. presto-chango ur image comes up
this is the best way to do it.
remember, if you are doing signature pics keep them to 500*350 pixels
