Default Hey guys ^_^

Hey all,

My name is Scott and I stumbled upon these forums in search of friends and help.

I'm 21, ambitious for technology and I love my two cars, my 91 Dodge Stealth (DOHC no TT =( ) and 93 Chevrolet Camaro (Only a 6cyl). I'm pursuing cyber defense/security as a career because what's not fun about hacking, and doing it legally.

So a little bit of car history: My first car I ever had was a Ford Tempo (Ugly as hell but we got rid of it and it ran like a champ). This car probably had the worst luck on the planet. I spun out on a turn because of a ball joint breaking and almost put it into a lake. Had to get it towed out and it had popped all the tires and ripped the catalytic converter out because of ****** wire.

Cool right? well went and got the tires fixed and began driving it again. Didn't realize that there was a part of the exhaust that was left that was hanging down and drove over some raised rail road tracks and it ripped out from underneath. End of the horror? I think not. I was driving down the highway around one of those giant sound barriers and under a bridge and a kid threw a rock the size of your fists put together over and it just so happened I was driving under neath and it smacked onto the hood denting that in and smashing my windshield.

So I finally decided it was time to get rid of this cursed vehicle and we sold it to my dads friends son >_>. He went and dropped an I beam on it... so they finally scrapped it lol.

I think it was only a matter of time till this car killed me.

Car number 2:
You ever work your *** off to spend six thousand dollars to have people not be able to fix your car? Well I have... and let me tell you I will never take my car to a dealership or independent mechanic ever again unless someone else is paying. (Don't flame me for this) My pride and joy, being my Dodge Stealth, had been through the ringer with mechanics. I started off by taking my car to an independent mechanic to replace all the valves costing roughly 1200 dollars. My parents went and picked it up and brought it home just for it to not start up when I ran out to start it.

So we returned the car back to the mechanic and told them that if they didn't fix the problem then we'd get our money back after the 2nd time of asking them what was taking them so long after 3 months of holding my car. I have no idea what went on but they did something of a temporary fix and so it was drivable for a while. While driving it one day it just died... awesome, so we took the car to the Dodge Dealership in Pinckney and they said it was the Crank/Cam Angle sensor. Got that fixed... 2 times and 1 free because of a manufacture error.

I think you can see where this is going. Finally at another dealership where a family member worked, said it was the ECU and replaced it... supposedly. We gave him 200 dollars cash because those things could get pricey and he said he found one... and then disappeared

So, I have learned to just do the work myself now. So... I needed a car, I didn't like Camaros at the time, but it was my girlfriends favorite car. So, what happened? She talked me into buying one and sadly it's not an IROC but none the less it is a Camaro, and was running solid up until a few days ago.

I've been through the ringer with cars so I am desperately seeking help, guidance, and a strong Camaro community so I hope you all can provide it for me.

And for you March madness people (I don't watch basketball) Go State!

i have a 1994 Z28. After a recent rebuild, my car now has a 95-96-97 opti-spark dist. I have purchased a vent hose part # 1255-5323. My problem is that the hose has a smaller hose attached to it and I have no idea what the smaller hose attaches to. I ran the car after the rebuild and got stuck in some deep water. Therefore a new opti-spark. The shop that rebuilt the engine installed a cam that required a 95-97 dist. That's why I have the dist. on the engine in the first place. I've contacted the Part's Dept. at all the local GM dealers in the area to no avail. No one has a view of what the smaller hose hooks up to. I know that I will have to buy some more components to use this hose set-up, I would just like to know what items I need and where do they go? I don't know anybody with Z's or LT1's in that year span. Can anyone tell me what I will have to acquire and where it goes?
