Default Hey!

New to Camaro, they looked like an inexpensive nice first car. So I thought I would do a little research on them, and see if the owners of Camaros recommend them to others. I would probably get the Z28 because I like the looks of it better. Are there any tips or things I should know about if purchasing a Camaro? It would be my first car for getting to and from school (30 miles), I would get a 2001 or older because of price I was thinking of spending $7,000 or less.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums and thx for registering with us.

Of course we would recommend purchasing a CAMARO !! Come on !! Considering 90% of the members here own one. I do not think that you will find one here that would tell you not to buy one.

$7,000 or less you will be looking at a car with alot of miles on it. How old are you ??? If you are looking at a Z and still in school I will guarantee that you will pay alot for insurance on your car. So there are alot of things to consider.

I am 16 years old and yes, still in school. I have USAA insurance and it has really low rates until you get into a wreck. So I'm not too concerned about insurance. I know a lot of people on here have Camaro's but I was wondering if they would make a good first car? and are there any decent camaros for under $7,000?My parents want me to get a Civic but i want to get a camaro but if there more expensive than I thought, then I will probably go with a more economy car.

Thanks again!

i paid 9000 for my 98 v6 with 13000 miles so you can find a deal..but once again when u hit the Z28 market your prices will most likely go up....you just gotta do alot of searching and even some haggling and you can get that car you want

My first car was a camaro and I loved it. if you can respect the car and others around you then it would be a good choice. For many Camaro is a life style and not just a car. if you just need a ride then there are other cars out there that can get you from A to B. If you love to drive then get a camaro. Just not one like mine.
