Hello im new here
i Purchased a 86 camaro today basicly for a project car being its not running the motor was a 2.8 fuel injection and the oil pump went bad blew the orignial motor up and that was switched with a 2.8 carberated and thats how it stands today.... so any ideas on how to find out what this motor is out of?
ok thanks greenarrow ill look for one tonight or tomorrow i really dont know much about working on cars so... i have no one to teach me and i just got my licencs i have a runing car but have always wanted a camaro so i baught this one i needs alot of work but im upfor it i just need a little help lol
just found out its out of a 1982-1985 2.8 L 60° V6, 2 barrel Rochester 115hp 148lb torque.. i did a little research into motors from the area around when that car was built and found this out.. im thinking its way out of time because it sounds like it is but i cant figure out how to turn the distributer lol.... anyways is this motor even worth messing with because its kinda weak? or should i just pull it and get a different one at a junk yard? if yea what can i get that will bolt up to the current transmission? or should i change that to? i have a friend with a shop that will help me do that
