Default Hello everybody!

Whats up guys, my name is Mike. My dad just bought a fully restored 1969 Camaro Z28. Its got a 302 with 4-Speed and RS package. The original color was Lemans Blue with white stripes, and now it is painted Glacier Blue with white stripes. It was a CA built Camaro and has stayed there ever since. Anyways, the situation is, he buys the cars, I work on them. I myself have a 1970 Chevelle that I am going the Pro-Touring route with. I can't wait to learn all about the car and all Camaros on these forums!

LOL, thats what I thought at first too. Chevy did make a 302 in 1967 that was only used in '67 and '69 Z28s. It was basically a 327 block with a short-stroke 283 crank. The designed the 302 specifically for the SCCA Trans-Am Racing Series which place a 305ci limit on their entrants. Qualifying for this race group was also the sole reason that Z28s were sold to the public.

Yep! I learned it myself not too long ago. Pretty cool I think. After a day of researching the VIN on that thing, I found out that it is a pretty rare one! RS package, built in the Van Nuys factory, loaded with options, still has original glass, numbers matching engine/trans, original Hurst shifter option, factory cowl hood, etc. And to top it off it was built the last week of March 1969, which I was born the last week of March 1983. Next time I see it I want to get it up on jacks and get the number off of the engine to find out more of what it came with from the factory. Aparently on the Van Nuys built cars, they taped the build sheet to the top of the gas tank at the factory. I want to see if that survived enoght to read as well.
