Bought this car
Hello There,
Long story short..I was on a business trip recently, and had just enough time to snap these two pics, and tell the gentleman I would take it..I am now just trying to identify what I bought..Anybody able to tell me what we are looking at? This is all I have only the pics..No Year, RS? SS? Z28? etc..I'm excited getting any info at this point, and know I will hav to make another trip..The gentleman I bought this from knows nothing about it either..
Thanks for any help
Cary
P.S. I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE SO PLEASE EXCUSE THE ROOKIE JOB!!!

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a nice car. Get the vin, and check this site out for info. http://www.nastyz28.com/index.php?page=camarofacts

So it's not a factory Rally Sport package but it could still be a Z28,wheels look correct but that doesn't mean much.
We'll need vin numbers to know for sure,is it a 4 speed car,do you know if it's a 12 bolt rear end?
Did you look at the motor, does it have a stock GM aluminum high rise intake and Holley carb?
All that would tell a lot,not that it couldn't have all been added to clone a Z28 but if it's not there it's probably just a plain Camaro, not likely someone would downgrade a Z28 engine compartment to a cast iron intake and q-jet or 2 brl carb.

You have to realize the 70 1/2 split bummer has been a clone favorite since the mid 70s. Anything we could tell you would be based on $500 worth of sheet metal we can see. For every one true Split bummers that was sold the probably four or five clones now. Its a pretty common practice to convert the 70-73's and some guys are even using the 74's but its a bit more work.
