Default 69 427 BB hard hot restart ?

Just joined the forum today - Thank You!
Car starts right up when cold. Once up to temp for a while after shut down, the car struggles to crank back up. Starter very "draggy". Car eventually starts but struggles. I've heard of using a separate solenoid with starter to solve this issue, but need advice. Car equipped with gear reduction starter as well. Looking forward to hearing thoughts - Thanks!

If you have headers there's a pretty good chance it's heat causing the problem, look into a starter heat shield or blanket or wrap the header in the starter area.

Thank you, I do have headers. Have you had good luck with these shields. Reviews I've read state not very effective.

I never got around to it with my '69 427 Camaro but that was in the days of my youth (many moons ago) and my car did the same, not sure how effective they are but better than nothing I'd assume.
Maybe a heat shield on the starter and wrap the header near the starter
