Hello Massey. I am in need of help again. I posted in v6 tech,I think, a post about either replacing my 3.4l with another 3.4l or redoing the timing chain and other stuff. But I can't seem to find what vehicle other than the 1994 camaro/firebird that had that engine(95)? I noticed you wrote the sticky for a fwd to rwd 3800 but can a later model 3400 do the same thing(from grand am or others)? I am as I said going crazy about getting this car to start and may have damaged engine with back firing before and such. Please help. Thanks Don.

    Massey,
1st I am sorry to hear about sarah. Hopefully something else will come your way. I have a question about the halo ring in the headlights on sarah. You told me to hook it up to the side markers and that works and i know how to do that but my question is both of the wires coming from the halo circuit are red...Were yours like this? and which one is the positive or does it matter?

Hey massey, I read that you use to auto cross race and that helped you like.. become better at handling your car. I was curious how would someone go about getting involved in that and what mods should I look into getting before going. Id rather not go to an event bone stock and be laughed at lol.

Using an after market gauge will mess with my engine settings?

YOu may want to track that wire down and find a way to reconnect it. The computer needs that information to give you proper engine settings. That wire comes out of a harness that is going over the top of the engine if I remember right. Find it, use it, love it.

The sending unit is in the engine, but the plug that goes into that isn't there. I looked everywhere for it but it is gone. So I bought an aftermarket gauge to replace the stock gauge.

    Massey,
I have a question about installing a new temperature gauge on my 1994 Z28. When I bought the car, the gauge didn't work so I bought a new thermostat and that didn't solve the problem. Finally my girlfriend's step dad and I looked for the problem and the gauge wires are not there. So I decided just to buy a new gauge. My question is, how do you recommend routing the wires? There is a small area between the door and the dash, but I don't want to kink the wire. If that is not a good idea, where do you recomment I drill a hole in the dash and firewall?

    Thanks,
    Tyler

    Well...
    1. No Harbor Freight located in Hawaii from what I have seen.
    2. Not sure there are paint stores located here either.

I do have a buffer, its not bad but not sure if I can set the RPM on it at 1000 or so. I could get a craftsman, but then what am I really getting there? I have the hood from the car I can use in order to "learn" what burning is versus buffing and polishing. All I want to do is get the car to sort of match now with the new parts on the car. I have to paint my two lowered ground effects as well when I get back. This should be fun! Thanks for the advice, by the way 3M's headquartered in my home state of Minnesota (the first of three "M's").
