That's retarded. I would have said something to the employees about that. What's the point in having them on 'display' if you can't listen to them? Those are suppose to be interactive displays. It's not like people buy speakers for the way they look...I'm not sure what else to tell you. Maybe try to find some friends that have replaced their speakers and see how they sound? I'm not sure if you have any other audio places around where you are. I used to, but not anymore. They all got put out of business from Best Buy going in.

Yeah I've heard of them. Is there a Best Buy near you or some other audio place? I'd say to just go there and play with all the speakers and head unit combinations to see what sounds best to you. I'm lucky enough to have a Best Buy just a few minutes away and that's what I ended up doing. Read reviews online about different speakers. Like I said, I'm personally a fan of Pioneer, they're inexpensive, but not the cheapest either. And they sound pretty good for the prices of them. Sound is determined on MANY factors, not just one. Keep that in mind. Everyone will end up telling you something different that they prefer. You can only test them and find out what you like for yourself.

no i live in vegas and there are numerous stereo shops here that when u pay cash hook you up with a much better price but as far as the connecters go i cut off the factory harness and just use the U connectors that crimp onto the wire and then attach those the speaker most speakers come with a set of wires that you can splice to the factory wires. i spent $200 on my speakers i bought pioneer

They're black angel halos, I got them off of ebay. Around $145 shipped. The system was $120 for the amp, $80 for subs, $70 for the box, $70 for 2 wiring kits, and probably around $10 for extra hardware, so whatever that is total.
