Aluminum are like a silver. Where else iron heads would blend in with the block. Don't worry though, you have aluminum heads. All F- and Y-body LT1's came with aluminum heads. B- and D-body cars got the cast iron heads.

Since the guy said so matter of factually that he had cast iron heads, wouldn't you think he knew what he had?
Otherwise, why would anyone even mention the heads?

My last comment was directed at Mikey, not the OP, who asked:

So you're assuming Mikey still has aluminum heads? The OP doesn't any more!
J.k., gotta love thread jacks.....or at least side tracks.

I sure hope he does! I don't know why any one would switch to cast iron! Haha.

Engine only has 90,000. It's pretty darn clean

My family owns an salvage yard so I got the motor with cast iron heads for dirt cheap. Only reason I did that ha

Huh. That seems really low to me. Considering a stock did 265. I'll see what Hot Rod got after they did the mods.

To the OP. Understandable why you went with iron heads. 90k miles isn't bad, assuming the engine was well taken care of. Personally, I'd put away for a rebuild and hold off on the cam and work on basic bolt on's and aluminum heads. But that's me.
