Default Wrecked the 95 Z28 Help...

Totaled my z28 4000 miles after my overhaul Still running flawless though.. What options do i have as far as getting this drivetrain into another shell. Obviously a 95 6spd shell would be ideal.. How complicated would it be to get everything in one of a diffrent year or one that was a auto??? Also is the firebird a option if thats all i can find? Thanks in advance. If anyone knows of a good 6pd shell in the va or outlying area please let me know.

If everything runs flawlessly then just use your current car as a donor and swap everything in, including the PCM. How much damage is there?

On a side note, autos will probably come with 2.73 ratio gears so your speedometer will be off if you keep the A4 rear.

How much of a pain is it going to be to make this work with either a 94 or 96 or newer model?

It all depends on what roller you buy. A Camaro roller from 93-96 will be the easiest to swap everything into.

93-96 LT1 Camaro would be optimal (retain your 95 PCM)
93-97 LT1 Trans Am/Firebird Formula would also work but you'd need the new gauge cluster
97 LT1 Camaro will require a different gauge cluster (unsure if the OBD1 comp will work with the 97 OBD2 era cluster)
93-97 V6 Camaro would work if your K-member, suspension, rear, brakes, and radiator are good + new gauges

I'm unsure about swapping an LT1 into LS1 era f-bodies. I think the requirements would be similar to swapping into the V6 cars.

Youu definitely want to get a LT1 car. If your engine and tranny are still good, you might be able to pick up a LT1 shell (no engine or tranny) and then just swap your stuff over. That would definitely be the way to go and easiest.

As previously mentioned, anything thing else is going to be an experiment in wiring.

Swapping into an auto chassis would be more of a pain as you would have to get the pedals into it and there may be some wiring issues to address.

Going into an LS1 car will be a headache as it would be a lot like swapping into a V6 car.

lt1 will fit in any 93-97 camaro. you will want to use the computer from any of the z28 you buy and except the 95 not your own. your trans will work in a 94 and 95 but not sure of the pugins and programing for the 96 and 97. if you use a v6 model you will need most everything from your 95, wiring, trans, k member, springs, trans, computer, most sensors and modules, gage cluster and whatever i forgot.

Im going to take a look at a pretty nice 97 firebird this afternoon. The car is a Lt1 auto trans. How complicated of a process is it going to be to get my 6 stick in it. Or is it not possible? I will have the old z as a donor Also what differances are there between the 95 and 97 lt1?
