would this work
A buddy of mine told me that i could take the lt1 intake from a vette and get some more hp than the one i have right now which is the stock camaro one Is this true and would it be worth it to get one or just go with a aftermarket one. Thanks
No this is not true! Get an aftermarket Cold Air Intake, the one from the vette isn't going to fit in the location it should in the engine bay (if at all).
Unless of course your friend is talking about the intake manifold, in which case you can take it, but it's exactly the same as the intake manifold on your Camaro, so that would just be a waste of time.

He may have been refering to the LT4 intake manifold, but you would have to pull it off of a 96 Corvette with a 6-speed, and an origional LT4 isn't that easy to come by. That being said the only difference between the two manifolds is the color and the intake runners are raised 0.10" over the LT1, and unless you have LT4 style heads to bolt up to it all it will cause is turbulance. Save your money and get some other bolt-ons.
Don't waste your money on a new intake manifold, you can port the stock one and get the same results with a lot less money. Save your money for regular bolt-ons, or if you're already past that stage start thinking about heads/cam packages.
Wat do you think about the under pulley kits? Are they something i should look in to. I found one on summit for like 77 plus shipping and the belt is 22 plus shipping Is that really something that i will be able to feel
It's not going to give you much of anything except possible low voltage issues. If you want to reduce "parasitic loss" on an LT1 look for an electric water pump. Underdrive pulleys really don't get you much.
Go to the 4th gen section and read the "Where to start modding" guide, that should give you some good starting places to spend your money.
