Default when do you run outa gas

i was super busy yesterday and forgot to look at the gas gage. on the way home from a soccer game im crusin trying to make it back to a meeting that i was at earlier in the morning and the car starts to run funny when i press on the gas. so i start thinking dang them spark plugs are fouling already and downshift to see if that clears it. sure enough she smoothes out so i shift back up. it starts doin it again and im thinking what the heck. so i go over everything again finally looking at the gas gage. pegged at e. lol. had a buddy bring some gas and he shows up with a gallon. im like wow i hope this will get her started and to the station. put the gal in and she starts up and im on down the road. look at gage and it says 1/4 tank. lol. so now i know i have 1 gal left the first mark. my last 93 ran out at 1/8 tank so i wonder if it had a gal at 1/2. lol.

I've run mine to line just above E twice. That's usually when it starts to spit and sputter and not want to run. If only there was a way to make the gauge more accurate.

I never ran my 4th gens down that far to find out the hard way. You guys do know that it's bad for the fuel pump to run the tank way low? The gas actually helps to keep the motor cooler.

^ yeah what he said. I've actually switched from 93 to 89. Occasionally, I get 87 or 91 depending on where I'm at in Pa

Just curious, when you get gas, do you fill the tank or just put "some gas" in?

Just pretend that 1/4 tank is empty, your fuel pump will thank you for it!
