did you remove the screen?

The one from summit will require some mailing and mailing of the core. Try this

Remaned with 1 yr warranty
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2204&ppt=C0033

New with a lifetime warranty
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2204&ppt=C0033

These could be local to you and for the same price and no shipping, and you can bring the core in with you to avoid the core charge.

You should not have to tune for a CAI.

No sir, I didn't take the screen off. I think I'm just gonna go to the O'Reilys auto store and pick up a new one.

I was thinking that ordering a aftermarket would give a little hp.

Thanks for your explanation of the MAF Massey.

I think I will keep it stock for now.

In the future I would like to do heads, cam and intake manifold. But right now I just wanna get the car to where I can drive it and not worry about it stalling.

Check out the part number on the summit part... minus the aaz the part number is the same as the remaned unit. Stock for now will give you the best perfomance, once you get the heads done, some intake work and put out a little more than the stock 300HP then going up in both the MAF and the throttle body will need to be larger to feed the hungry engine.

this is the reman unit, cardone, AAZ-74-8308, this is the summit, SUM-29006B, no shipping charges except maybe the core, never done that with them. sure sounds like the oreily's is the way to go.

Yea I think O'Reilys is the best choice. I'm about to pull the car into the shop....Well, under a roof...Haha...And take the old MAF out and bring it with me for the core charge. I'll let you all know what happens.

Thanks for all the replies everyone !

Ok, I just put the new MAF in and I took the car for a drive. It seemed to do ok. I drove it about 8 miles or so. I guess I'll know more when I drive it on a longer trip.

Some awesome news: I just turned over 500 miles on my new clutch ! So I think now I can open the throttle up and see the results of the headers !

So I'm hoping this MAF replacement fixed my problem. I will know more when I take the car on a longer run.

Thanks guys for your help. I will keep you guys posted.

I appreciate all the replies.

Glad everything went smooth. Let us know how the engine runs after you get a few miles on it.
