Default What Do Ya Think???

Alright so I wanna know what you guys think about my new setup.

The block is getting hot tanked, crank is getting cut and getting oversized bearings (crank was messed up from previous owner). Getting new rods and rings, cylinders are getting honed out. So bottom end is gonna be stock just nice and new. Top end im going with a CC503 cam, Loyd Elliot heads, skorpion 1.6 roller rockers, ported and polished intake manifold. Other things on the engine is going to me a 58mm throttle body, electric water pump, a/c delete, edelbrock mid-length headers going down to a catless y pipe and going out to a borla catback.

I am putting a Turbo 350 with a manuel valve body, 3:73's gear ratio. Edelbrock adjustable torque arm, adjustable lower control arms, adjustable rear shocks. Welded sub-frame connectors.

With a CAI edelbrock headers - full exhaust 3:73's in the rear and drag radials with a T56 tranny my best time was 13.32 @104

What do you guys think and any idea on 1/4 miles times??? Or any input on anything else I could do??

And why are you stepping backwards with a T350 trans? You and your wallet aren't gonna like it so much on the highway.

I would keep the T56 and like Basic, I would stroke it out if you already have the block out and getting cleaned up. If not stroked, I would say upgrade with all forged internals with a lower compression ratio and boost it! Idk about you but I'm a boost kind of guy. But with your setup that you posted above, with the right tune, I would say somewhere low to mid 12s maybe. Rough guess lol

add up the cost of having your block and crank done adding in the cost of pistons and any other costs associated with block prep, compare that with 3k which is about average for the cost of having a block stroked and assembled at a shop. you would get the shortblock ready to put the heads and such on.

depends on what heads you are going with. not sure i'd use scorpion rockers. they are pretty hit or miss for people. i'd stick with comp cams rockers.

i'd also stick with the t56. don't think its worth the extra work to switch to the 350 unless your car will mainly be a track car(which it doesn't sound like it will be).

there a reason you're going with a 503 cam instead of a custom ground from lloyd? i'd personally do whatever he tells me to, haha.

+1 about lloyd elliot. You can get a great heads/cam package from him for any type of build. I talked to him about my build and he was more than helpful. Even told what injectors, gears, etc. to get to maximize what I want. I say shoot him an email.
