Default whammer bought a motor!

figured you guys might be interested in what i've been up to...most of you should know that i tried doing a cam swap and some of my cam bearings didn't hold after it and started puking out metal shavings in the oil. so to say the least, i was pissed and was forced to either build a motor or buy one done. after pricing what i'd want in a motor, i was looking at upwards of 7 grand and that just wasn't in the funds. i saw this ad and just had to jump on it. tell me what ya think!

Testing the waters on this...

This engine is currently is in one of my dad's cars and he is selling it to finish another setup. The engine has 5k miles on it and was not a backyard build....it was built by MORE Performance in Charlotte, NC.

I have all the receipts for this engine and dyno graphs.

Specs:

396ci LT1
11.4:1 compression

Bore cylinders 144
Hone w/plates 125
Align hone mains 125
ARP man studs 80
Deck block 125
Internally balance assy w/metal 240
Heavy Metal 7/8” x 1.200 45
Heavy Metal 5/8” x 1.200 32
Clearance block for stroker 80
Install billet main caps, align bore 366
Splayed main caps 220
Grind, tap, deburr block 150
Callies Dragonslayer forged crank 899
Lunati billet 5.85” rods 1499
JE SRP 4.030” forged pistons 559
Top ring 69
Second ring 59
Oil ring 59
JE 52s Pro wrist pins 144
LT1 complete gasket set 237
Hyd roller 234/242 299
Comp R lifters 239
HD timing set 289
Fed Mog Main bearing (coated) 118
Fed Mod Rod bearing (coated) 99
LT1 freeze plugs 10
Blueprinted oil pump 69
More Perf. Engine saver 20
Mardened pushrods 7.150” 119
ARP 12pt. Headbolts 145
Spark plugs 16
Comp Pro Mag 1.6 rockers 279
Custom wire set 129
42# injectors 495
Stage 3 ported LT1 heads 2075
Canton 15244T pan 349
Canton pickup 39
Timing cover upgrade 42
Oil pump drive 58

Total: $10,146

This setup made 411rwhp/410rwtq (passed emissions) with a stock throttle body, dual cats, stock waterpump, and no underdrive pulleys. The car also had big ol' heavy 17x11" ZR1 wheels in the rear. I'm sure it would be in the 440-450rwhp range with the cats removed, electric waterpump, 58mm or monoblade TB, and an underdrive pulley.

$4900 complete from fuel rails to oil pan (with OBD2 PCM tuned for the combo).

There's no such thing as too much motor!
Too much breakage further down the stock drivetrain...yeah that could be. Just allow for stronger parts behind the engine.

Good luck with the stock tranny and rear end behind that beast. It should be okay for a little while, but if I had that thing under the hood, I would not be able to keep my foot out of it.

Yeah, most guys put monster motors in their cars and just baby it from there.
Once you see what the engine has to offer, your right foot is gonna get itchy and heavier.

cage? in my car? oh heck no, lol. like i said, its not a racecar...just more of a show car. since ya know, it had to be painted from the havok a dog caused on my car and then a brand new 396 motor, i suppose i can take it to a couple shows.

i'm just really excited about it. i should have a video of it running in the other guys car sometime next week that i will post up for you guys. should have it in my possession in about 2 weeks
