im going to be putting a walbro in my 97 z over the weekend. i have been searching for a write up for a few days now. i want to install it in the origanal bucket but all i can find is people just mounting it on the frame of the assembly and all of them where on 99 and up camaros. anybody have a write up for the 93-97 cars as far as electrical and hoses get rerouted.

i split the bucket and took the old pump out and put the walbro in its place. then used a plactic welder to get it back together.

its a simple as that...lol...i read there was an extra wire that no one knew what to do with and there was an extra return hose that had to be modified. maybe researching caused more harm then good this time...lol... thank you

got mine from summit a long time ago, it said fit my car so i figured what the heck. after i sold that camaro and bought this one i had the exhaust and rearend out so i figured may as well get er done. man, if i have to do again i will do the hatch. anyways it was a tight fit getting the pump in the bucket, what i remember wires and hoses all fit like directions said.

ive changed pumps before (never on the Z) but they were true direct fit. split the bucket open remove old motor out the new one in and put everything back together. im having problems starting the car when she's cold takes a few cranks to get her going. well after checking things out my fuel pressure is low 30lbs max. like i mentioned after researching how to install the walbro ive seen people with all kinds of problems like the harness on the motor has three wires and the walbro only two, people totally hacking up the bucket to make it fit, and theres an extra hose with no where to put it. i was starting to think this project just wasn't worth the hassle. my only regret is not finding the racetronix setup before i ordered the standard unmodified walbro pump. thank you for your help as usual craby

i cant find the one i got. granatelli makes a kit that looks just like it.

its been such a long time,,, i went ahead and checked my reciepts and it was a granatelli gm722-2 i put in the camaro. i used the walbro on a corsa i had, gave it to my daughter. poor fit but it worked till she killed the car. lol ran it for a day without oil, came over and asked why the engine was clattering and knocking.

I used the racetronix kit on my car and it went in with no issues.

You where right craby. Split the bucket take the old pump out put the new one back in close the bucket and put it back in. The only altering I had to do was a little trimming on the rubber sleeve to get it to fit over the walbro pump. The install kit came with a harness to make it plug and play.
