vacuum leak
 

I think I may have a vacuum leak. I dont have a lot of break pressure in my pedal. and my car sputters a little in heavy acceleration. Just finaly put on my cai and there were to places where im suppose to hook up some hose but dont have anyplace to put them. so i just blocked them off.

pictures. theres a vacumm hose that goes to the opti and another bigger one that goes to the air pump.

I don't understand the part about brake pressure on the pedal.

im saying there is not a lot of pressure on the break pedal when i apply the breaks. i can push it to the floor.

the vacumm provides assist to the brakes, if you take that assist away then the peddle should be harder to push not easier. check your brake fluid level, check brake lines for cracks or bulges, check at the back of your tires for any idication of brake fluid leakage. if all is ok then i would suspect the master cylinder. if its harder to push but goes to the floor then could be assist or leak is the larger vacumm hose that goes to the brake assist ok, no cracks or rips?

well a vacuum leak if its a big hose will make ur rpm raise, does it? and if u blocked off the hose it should be fine but i believe it part of the emissions should go to ur or from your air pump, and the other is to ur opti if its vented and with the brake yea check ur fluid if its topped off u need to bleed ur brakes or you could have a internal master cylinder leak, for the sputter you can run a fuel system cleaner either a few times threw the gas tank or the better way threw a vacuum hose or if u got the equipment threw the service port. or just do a tune up on it

May be a bad brake booster but check around the intake manifold and around the brake booster for vacuum leaks, get a can of carb cleaner or brake clean and spray all around it with the engine running, if a vacuum leak is present this will stall the engine or cause it to bog down at least. Good for initial diagnosis, dont spray directly on the exhaust manifolds :-) If I am correct in my home diagnosis the engine's rpms decrease when you press the break pedal?

If the brake pedal goes to the floor, stop driveing it, the brakes are not working correctly and you may crash.
