i have a 93 Z28 n i went out with sum friends just yesterday n when i was parking i put it on parking n it went on reverse... so when i put it on reverse on goes to neutral.... i dont know what happend n can sum1 tell me how to fix it plz.... thanks....

 

Fix or adjust the shift linkage, or see a transmission shop.

Sounds like the shifter cable may have gotten loose, but can't tell without looking.

 

my bad... i dont know much about the transmission... but where do i find the shifter linkage?? is it inside the car near the shifter or under the car???

 

It is under the car, goes from shift handle to lever on tranny. May want to get a repair manual so you can set it properly,

 

ok i fixed it... lol.. there r 2 bolts that hold the cable right... n one of them fell n the other one was half way out... if it woulda fallen then i wouldnt've been able to shift at all... lol... that woulda sucked... but thanks for the help... but one more question.. a 93 z28 auto has a 700r4 tranny right??? how much does a shift kit help me?? n how much would it cost??

 

most zs have shift kits already, if im not mistaken mine has a factory shift kit i think. or at least it has a shift kit.

 

well i'm lookn for like a performance shift kit....

 

They don't have a factory "shift kit" but the PCM is tuned to shift faster. You can just get it retuned by PCMforless.com or some similar place and they can make it shift even faster than stock.
