Transmission swap for a 96 camaro

Hey im kinda new to the forum and decided to join cause i needed some help. Are their any kits for a conversion from a automatic to a manual for my 96 z28?

No kits exist for what you want to do.

About the easiest and cheapest way to swap from Auto to Manual (or vice versa) is to sell your car and buy one with the transmission you want. Seriously.

The computers and wiring harnesses are different between the two cars. So you would need the correct harness, and computer, along with all of the ancillary stuff (clutch linkage, cross member, etc) to do the swap.

Can it be done? Yes.

Is it a quick and simple job? No, not by any stretch of the imagination.

You best bet would be to buy a wrecked doner car. You going to need a lot of parts, Socom just swapped his car over check out the project section. Post in his thread and ask Socom for the details.

Honestly for what these cars are selling for the 6 speed trans is going to be 60% of the value of the car. The LT1 6 speeds are easy to convert to an older Gen 1 V8 for that reason the Lt1 T56 are selling $700-1200. Buy the time you buy a wrecked car install a new clutch, master and slave cylinders you will have 2k in the swap, now think about selling your car and adding that 2k to it and you could buy a nice car already done and ready to drive.

Yeap/// cost to worth ratio dont go up much on a swap like this.. Unless the car has a lot of mods and you are sentimental about keeping it.
