Is that a thin hard plastic vacuum tube? That line heads back to your EGR solenoid, then out of the solenoid is a vacuum hose to the EGR valve.
Has the EGR valve been removed/blocked off? A picture or three sure could help to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

Thr only internet i have access to is on my phone, and i have no clue how to upload pics from mobile. Im guessing photobucket...

The connector I'm talking about is the other wire attached to the opti. The coil wire (which you found) comes out the drivers side, the PCM connector comes out the passenger side top of the opti and runs along the top left (passenger) side of the intake manifold. If you keep following the wire bundle, it goes right to the PCM, which is on the back left of the engine compartment.

This is a great site and you can learn a lot there.

As far as the wiring around the engine, it looks pretty much like a bowl of spaghetti to me. Theres wires everywhere and i couldnt tell you what more than maybe five of them do. The only opti related wire i (possibly) found was a little short spark plug wire that went to what i believe to be the ignition coil. I pulled it off the coil and reseated it, along with all the stuff i had to unplug to get my intake off (maf sensor, some long hose that sticks in the side of the intake, and some little plug for something on the plenum. As far as vacuum hoses, i found one that has a screw stuck in it to seal it off near the drivers side of the intake manifold, and what i believe to be the other end of it just hanging there coming out of the wire wrap that i believe to be fuel lines(sticker says warning fuel lines).

#2 is the line coming out of the fuel line bundle, and it should be hooked to the other line. I would fix that.

I know i sound like a complete idiot, but i really have no clue whats going on under there. The engine compartment of this car reminds me of that old saying "shoving 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound sack..." Couple that with the short temper and lack of attention span brought on by 110 degree weather, and im about to push this mother effer off my cliff and into the lake...

To answer another question, as far as i know, the opti hasnt gotten wet. Ive never sprayed anything under the hood. Anything ive ever cleaned under there has been just by wiping it down. The last time it was washed was like a week before it broke down, and i just used my hose at home. It ran fine after that.

There is a Photobucket app for smart phones.

I went through qty 3 "GM" Optisparks to find a good one the last time one went out on me.

Never assume a part is good. You describe an opti failure, troubleshoot that.

The next time one goes on me I'll roll the dice and get a Chinese one from Chandler or other resellers who carry them.

And to the OP-------calm down and catch your breath

you remove the belt
you remove the pulley
you drain the coolant
you buy 2 gallons of WalMart coolant at $9 each and mix it yourself

you get a new waterpump gasket
remove the waterpump
remove opti
reverse process

it's not a big deal, you can do it. Label the plug wires before disconnecting from the opti and it will make you even more confident

and invest in a factory or haynes manual for crying out loud

smartphones are nice but nothing beats having the manual and picture/diagram right in front of you and if it gets greasy or is dropped...........so what

I have a shop and haynes manual for every single vehicle I own and that includes new vehicles.

By my own deduction, i would say that the broken piece of hose i found would attach to the part in pic 4 and would reach the fitting in pic 2. If thats the case then i still dont know what pic 1 is for.

What you have disconnected is the EGR solenoid vacuum line (the hard line in your hand), which is at the rear drivers side corner of the intake, and your vented optispark vacuum hose.

So the line coming up from under the intake is the vent for the opti? I thought the 94 didnt have a vented opti? Its posdible that my car no longer has the egr hooked up due to having the headers intalled right?
