temp gauge

Default temp gauge

hey when i first start my lt1 the temp gauge goes pretty high then it goes back down to normal after 5 minutes of driving. engine appears fine. is it just the gauge or whats up? also coolant sensor goes on and off as it pleases... broken, where is it so i can buy and replace?

what yr and model? coolant level sensor is at the passenger side of the radiator. have u checked the coolant level? sounds like u could have a sticky thermostat.

Just get a new thermostat. Pretty quick and easy fix. Might as well drain the coolant and do a flush while your at it. If you do not know where the thermostat is, it is under the big coolant pipe that connects to the front of the engine above the opti.
