Taxes on your Camaro
So today I went to pay the property tax on my 95 Z so I could drive it legally around my block...lol after almost a yr. I was blown away, taxes were only 10 bucks....tag 25.....lol is SC just that low on taxes. What are you guys having to pay.

My brother lives in S.C., and I was surprised to hear the things you pay taxes on. On the flip-side, your real estate tax rates are dirt cheap compared to mine. In the long run, I think I'd rather have your system up here. Anyway, we pay $98/year for registration/license plate renewal, I presume you pay yearly for plates over and above your "tax"?

Yeah I paid tax on mine when I bought my car. Lol i hope there arent any IRS agents on here cuz well I only paid tax on 30% of the value which I purchased it. I bought it for $10k but only paid the michigan sales tax of 6% on $3k

I swear when it comes to lying to the state about what a car sold for even the little old ladies are like "Ok that is a fair price, how low can we say the deal is for without getting in trouble."

sales taxes are really are misnomer
It's more like a transaction tax in FL
buy new car for $30k, pay 1800-$2000 in sales tax
sell car in a few years for $20k, the buyer pays $1200 in sales tax in order to register
sell car a few years later for $12k, yup, buyer pays $720-$840 in sales tax
and so it goes
if the vehicle turns over several times FL could receive upwards 20%, 30% or more in sales tax for the same exact item
you can't go back and recover sales tax you paid minus resell price but I bet it would make for an interesting class action lawsuit.......but I don't think you can sue the govt
in other words, on a $30k car FL should never see more than $1800-$2000 total sales tax.

I am one of those young thunder cat college kids who loves big brother being huge and having all sorts of taxes cause like all college kids i love government sponsored programs and paying a large percentage of my money in taxes.
