starter

Quick question, I have a mini starter and it drags when the engine is at running temp. I had the battery checked and its fine. So my.question is, can you rebuild it like ypu can a stock starter? And does that sound like a tired starter to yall?

sounds more like its over heating, try a heat shield first and see if that helps.

Im using Powermaster 9600. With no shield. Been on since 2009. When my car is at 160* its a stuggle to restart it. Almost like an HEI engine when the timings off. LOL. Starter rebuild or heat shield?

Thats not a sign thats somethings wrong with these LT engines is it?

nope the motors not hot. try the shield first, its usually the windings that go south so rebuild will probly not do much.

What makes them start dragging when they get hot?

It's not engine heat that's affecting the starter, it's exhaust heat.
Starter fine when cold, but not fine when hot...you have a heat issue.
You want to try and isolate the starter from the heat source.

Yep, cold, it has no probs. I'll wrap it up.
