Default Spreading rust

Hi everybody, well as you all know its time to start putting out babys away, or at least ones like myself who have terrible winters, a canadian winter to be exact(eh), anywho, i have a concern, i have a terrible rust spot in my floor which i intend on tending to in the spring because i just cant afford it at the moment, this is a badass rust spot, one part is even right through the floor (maybe about an inch of it) but the rust spot itself is only about a foot by a foot, and im very worried about it speading over the winter (im storying it outside on my driveway) any tips or tricks? i was looking at some "rust check" and "rust killer" at my local canadian tire, opinions and help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Eastwood carries a rust converter for reasonable. It converts rust into a paintable finish and stops the progress of rust.
