single muffler or two?
im creating a custom setup for my car over christmas which is basically longtubes an H pipe and a muffler then before rear axle dump
now what is the difference between one of these
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=9110
and a regular muffler
buying one muffler instead of two is much cheaper haha and thats why im askin

"They feature a free-flowing, straight-through perforated stainless steel core, stainless mesh wrap and acoustical fiber fill"
According to their description, it's basically a dual in-dual out, straight through glass pack style muffler.

lol so it would not provide any muffling whatsoever, as in way to loud?
this isnt a DD but i dont want to sound like a tank coming down the road, any recomendations?
and thanks i just needed to know if itd work with a dual setup
i always like to be a 110% sure of things cause i hate sending crap back

Is there such a thing as too loud?
It will muffle the sound somewhat, but it'll still be loud. And with dumping the exhaust under the car, the droning will eventually get to your ears. There's a difference between just plain loud and having it rumbling under the car. Going all the way out the back would be the way with that type of muffler.

yeah i think thats what im going to do now
to my dismay i discovered that there are no headers of any type for the 93 that dont require EGR and AIR deletes and im not giving those up, ive got the rare 93 LT1 that wasnt beat to death and everything is still pristine (1 in a million lol)
so i guess im gonna do some crazy setup with the stock ones but still duals
and since ill have the extra 200-400 bucks ill buy some nice tips and run them back and have some cash left over

im running a single thrush welded 2 chamber flow lookn, you know woodpecker 2 1/2" muffler, its pretty loud dumped . i have a short section of 2 1/2 " coming off it with a pop can slipped over with a hose clamp and a hole cut in it to tune it to the sound level i want. i can make it very quiet in a few mins which is nice

the newer (94-97?) egr headers will work with some mods. have them in mine. you can make your setup fit the egr tubes or upgrade to a newer egr and air setup. the egr switch is easy, im still gathering parts to switch my air pump pluming.

a pop can slips ove a 2 1/2" pipe which will slip into the mufflers outlet cut the bottom of pop can center out till you get the sound you want, hose clamp it on so it wont shoot off. cut the top of the pop can off and a hole in the bottom the size of a half dollar to start
