Scanner / Reader 1993 Camaro Z28

Hello to all , I am trying to find a scanner that will allow me to review the data from my engine. I had seen an Actron 9145 that said it would scan OBD 1. Can anyone recommend one that would work ?

Don't spend money on a scanner, it's not necessary for '93s. Buy a Haynes manual or find the code list on the web and take a paper clip and jump pins A and B (top row, last two on far right) and count the number of times the SES light flashes. For example, 1 SES light flash, pause, then 2 SES light flashes is a code 12 which will always come up when reading codes, even if the SES light isn't on. Other than that, you can pick up a scanner from your local parts store for about $30.

I am trying to read the O2 sensor outputs and the map sensor reactions under throttle. I have replaced a lot of stuf to correct a rich problem and so far no luck. The MAP , TPS, OPTISPARK,Coil, EGR,fuel pressure regulator, plugs and wires are all new. The TPS tested good on throttle response.
I am going after the exhaust manifold gaskets tomorrow and possibly the intake gaskets the day after.

When I purchased the car it had a 22 code replacing the TPS sensor cleared that, and I have no other codes.

Might have a sticking fuel injector. Could try some fuel injector cleaner to see if that helps or have a shop clean them. If there aren't any codes present, then all your sensors are good. Even if the SES light is off, codes can be stored, so I'd double check that if you haven't all ready.

will the first link work for the 94? Also, I understand you need the $EE file, is there a place to get this without having to pay for it, or is it just specific software that needs it?

the 9145 and it's newer replacement works on 94's and up, not the 93

I use the 9145 on my 95Z and naturally all of my OBD2 vehicles

I'll probably just have to break down and buy the stuff from tunercat.com.

small handheld scanners will not show obd1 sensor readouts like they do for the obd2 systems. at least none ive seen.
