replacing my rod bearings
 

so as most of you know the rod bearings i put in my car are shot im blaming this on one of to things... either i messed up on putting them in (possible but unlikely) or they were autozone junk to begin with so i want to go with something better and was wondering what material to go with also i pulled the crank and im the luckiest guy on earth the journals look great 2.0808"-2.0874" i found on ls1tech that factory built is 2.0897" and the clearance is .0006"-.0248" (the car only ran for about 1 min making the noise)

So with those specs, you hopefully didn't use standard size bearings last time. What undersize dimension did you put in?
Your crank needs to get worked on so you can get more consistent journal sizes. You're more than .030 larger on the high side, and under .030 on the low side.

Did you have the rods resized before you replaced the bearings? Stretched caps will make the big end of the rods oval, and bearing clearance will look good when measured in one position and look bad when measured in another.

well i guess im not the luckiest guy on earth theres a real deep gouge i didnt notice before in the 5-6 journal i found a stock reman at autozone for 150 with the appropriate rod and main bearings im going to pick that up...

Always best to pull the crank and have it gone through when replacing bearings in my experience. It may cost a little time and money, but nothing like what you are going through now.

I learned that lesson (the hard way) years ago when I rebuilt my first SBC for my Nova.

It sounds like you wiped a bearing out? You really need to disassemeble the motor and clean everthing. When your bearing got damaged is push metal everywhere. I can not tell how many time I have seen these types of repairs come back. The only time we could get a way with not doing a complete tear down is when the knock is from a streched rod or rod bolt. Your Cam bearing could be half gone right now. If the Cam bearing are ripped up you will never get good oil pressure.

All the bearings were there and whole the ones that went looks like they were molded around the journals more than 180* I can't really pull the motor again as I don't have a hoist but ill pull the cam out and check out those bearings
