rants about our cars
I know its not in the right place, but why to 4gen drivers not give a wave when they pass each other? Like jeeps, audis ect....I get so stoked when i see another 4th gen, especially if it looks and sounds good, it seems others dont feel the same way.
2nd, why is it so much fun to **** away money on our cars? Or spend hours cleaning them to just drive to and from work with an occasional outing? It would be so nice not to care about our HP, handling, looks, exhaust, speakers ect but its like a priority after the bills are paid or when your off of work... Do yall feel the same way?

Today I was driving on the PA turnpike stuck in traffic behind a wreck. Friday 5 oclock traffic is always a mess but this was a big mess. Right in the middle of a 5 car crunch, we cound not get stopped, fast lane wreck was a 2011 Black SS. We where all driving at 5 miles an hour around the cars the Guy noticed my Camaro and looked at me and just shugged. I was sad.
Guys going all out on cars if nothing new. Heck back in the 80's guys where rebuilding 1 gens and sticking 3 to 4 times more money then they could ever hope to get out of their rides. They did not turn into money makers until the late 90's.

I usually honk or give a nice rev of the engine. Some return the favor...others don't.
It's not just sport car owners that **** away money. I mean, hell, when I had my Buick Century, I kept on top of things. Every year the underneath was looked over and another light layer of undercoat would go on. Oil every 3k miles. Synthetic too. I washed it a lot. Even thought about putting the 3800 Series III S/C V6 in it with a ratchet shifter on the floor. Every maintenance was kept up with. Something broke, I was at Napa getting a new one. Then I sold it to a lady I used to work with and she trashed it.

I totally do the 4th gen wave all the time. About 45% of the time I get one in return. I have also been know to go out of my way to park next to other 4th gens in parking lots.
I second that ^^^^^^ I know I will never get all the money back. The money into it is for one person ME. Not for the guy that I MIGHT sell it to in the future. Personally I don't think I will ever sell this car.

I think there's an issue about the appreaance of your car that drives people to either notice you and give a wave or be a ****. For example, my cars appearance is far from stock and it seems that the nicer camaro drivers usually give a wave or whatever when I do, but the ones that drive beat up/abused camaros always want to race and act a fool when close by. For the most part I notice every camaro that I pass or that passes me, but with windows up I don't bother waving cuz they can't see it. But with the widows or top down I'll wave for sure if I see'em looking.
As for the money part, I'm into my car for over $25K, including the original purchase price back in 97. And I'm now at a point that I have to decide if it's worth going any forward any more or selling it and getting a 5th gen. I honestly don't know what to do because I've had this car for 15 years and put so much into. It's been my DD since I bought it, but in a couple months when I get back it won't be my DD, it'll be my sunday driver for the most part unless I decide to do more work to it. Which would be engine/tranny/rear end/suspension.

Just wave! Some people are clueless about what you're doing, others will put 2 and 2 together if it happens to them more than once. When in my 69, I get and give waves to any old car, not just a Camaro. That's a whole different "brotherhood". When driving my Vette, all other Vette drivers wave. But we're cool like that, and besides, the Vette guys invented "the wave"! lol Even when in my Jeep Wrangler, we trade waves.
