radiator help
im going to be getting a Be Cool custom fit aluminum radiator for my 93 z, its crossflow, and also has a transmission cooler hook up on it since my trans has a cooler on it already, does anyone have any info on the original radior that were in the early LT1s ?

RE: radiator help
The stock radiators were aluminum crossflow types with transmission cooler, if auto, and some had engine oil cooler connections if the performance option was ordered. They worked fine unless they got clogged. You need a radiator with a built in transmission oil cooler to keep the transmission happy. The external transmission coolers are considered auxiliary coolers and you still need the inernal cooler. Unless you plan to make some major mods, you can save a quite few bux by just using a new stock radiator.

RE: radiator help
It will lower the temp if the thermostat and fans setting allow it, otherwise it will hold the same temp. Check if your car has an oil cooler. The cooler is mounted between the block and oil filter and has coolant lines going to the radiator.

RE: radiator help
There should be two hoses/pipes going from the oil cooler to the radiator. The oil cooler is sandwiched between the engine block and the oil filter. The oil pump is internal to the engine and not visible.
