its a 1997 lt4 6 speed. E-brake and brakes are all fine. posi, i am not sure but if lt4's are posi its not been changed. the rear end fluid has not been changed, id imagine since it was purchased in 97. but could that be the cause? I'm replacing it on the 12 to c if it goes away.

make sure they put the additive in the rearend with the oil. if u dont it makes the clutches in the center unit chatter. that may be whats makin the noise too. oh boy, sounds like the trans clutch may also be failing. what u been doing to the poor car. lol.

u know what the otter sound may be the power steering growling because its low. check the fluid level. and on the clutch it may be that it sat for so long that theres some crud/rust build up were the groves are on the clutch plate. also could be some oil on the clutch. do the overdue matinance and see what happens after u drive it for a while. keep checking for any oil or coolant leaks were the car sets overnight.

If it is like other sites, it is based on the number of posts that you have. The more posts, the faster you change from newbie to whatever it is that comes next. Not sure of the exact number of posts needed though.....

My rear end was doing the.same thing you say yours is doing and I.had to replace my pinion bearings cuz they were wore to **** and my car had 30k. Miles but sat for like 3 years in some old dudues garage. But change the fluid first and put the upgraded LS fluid in it. Chevy dealer will have it and it does really good with.the posi cluches. I could tell the difference in smoothness with mine
