Please help me better understand how power programmers such as hypertech IIIs work. Can you only program one vehicle per programmer at a time, correct? If you wish to program another vehicle of the same application, do you have to return the program from the first vehicle back into the programmer? The reason I'm asking this is that there are alot of "once used" programmers on ebay for alot cheaper than "new". If my above questions are true, How can I be sure that the seller has reinstalled the programs correctly for me to use them? thanks again for any response.

You are correct. Only one vehicle may be programmed at a time. If someone wishes to sell it, they must install the original program back to their car. The only way to know they have installed the original program back is when you try to install the tune on yours. I wouldn't buy one from someone who doesn't have that much feedback. Just be careful who you choose from.

I would recommend staying away from the Power Programmer. It's honestly nothing more than a $300 fan switch. I had one, and I couldn't wait to unload it. Get a tune from www.pcmforless.com. You'll get more power, and the program is twice as cheap. Talk to Bryan. He does excellent work. I'd recommend PCMFORLESS to anybody!

I have an A4 and I gotta tell ya, the thing was totally worthless, aside from firming up the shifts a little bit. It was nothing more than a $300 fan switch. Good riddens to bad rubbish! I couldn't unload that thing quick enough!
You can change shift points, and firm the shifts, and stuff like that, but even changing the shift points did virtually nothing for the performance.
