Default Quck Question!

I looked at a 94 Z28 very clean with 89K on it today.I have been looking for awhile and this is the nicest one yet!But iam very aware of the Optispark issues on these cars especially the 93 and 94's for that reason i was really looking for a 95 and up with the newer style Opti even though i heard those have problems too, just not as bad.I just want to know some peoples opinion on this if its worth it or should i still go for the 95's and up and save a headache like i said the car is almost flawless right down to the paint and drives like a beast!Any help would be great thanks!

Optispark is fine, as long as it is kept dry.

was 95 included? someone else would have to answer that. After awhile they switched to a vented opti i believe.. idk i had mine switched out with my waterpump and some other stuff and it ran me like 1000 bucks total.

The vented opti is a little better, but if water gets into it, plan on changing it. My94 went over 150K miles before the opti broke, and that because it was left out in the rain with the hood open. I live in Long Island, NY. where the winters are cool and damp, and the summers are hot and humid.

I had my car for 6 years before I changed the opti and the only reason I did was because I put a new engine in the car. The opti was doing fine up to that point and I've even washed the engine from time to time. If the car runs great then get it.
