not sure if it has any relevance but when i put 87 in on accident my car wouldn't idle/it would die at stop lights. I put octane booster in the tank and filled with premium and it hasn't done it since.

he is correct, the only difference between 87 and 93 is detonation.if you use a lower grade it will just sputter and could ping or knock, but it wouldnt make the car just die or not idle
