My car has been feeling like it is missing some, so I checked my wires for arcs in the dark. I could see that one is arcing constantly at the edge of the boot on the plug and another on the front of the engine that might also be on the plug.
Whats the best way to stop this?

 

New wires should fix it.

Look through the list the lt1 wires are on there.

 

yep your wires are failing. time for a trip to the parts store. if i still drank i would rate the plug wire change at a 8 beer job on the beerometer.

Well luckily my lt's will make it easier. I replaced my wires a few weeks ago when I did my lt install, but I only used regular wires. So using 8mm should fix it?

 

And is it significant that they are red wires. I've noticed everyone always makes a point to mention the color.

 

Color doesn't matter. You can get wires in different colors to match your engine bay, car color, or just plain artistic ideas.

But if you just replaced the wires, you should have any arcing unless:
1) You burned your wire or boot on the LTs.
2) You replaced them with some ultra cheap Chinese store brand wires?

Double check your wires for any signs that they have gotten burned on your headers. You may need to look for a new way to reroute them away from the tubes, or get some wire heat shields to protect them.

 

They are bosche brand, but im thinking that they are a bit too close to my headers. I have them routed in the way that I think keeps them farthest from the headers.

 

Will those wires resist heat better than 7 mm bosches from autozone?
