Please Help!! Header Question
 

In the process of having Hooker Super Competition headers installed on my 95 camaro and we had to remove a plate near the steering column so the drivers side header would fit. Now what was under the plate is exposed (rubber pieces), although the header is not touching these, im worried the heat could still destroy them. Anyone have any idea what im trying to describe? Ive read that some people had to bend the header on the drivers side to clear certain things, but since this package is designed for my model and year car i didnt think i would have to do this. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

the only thing i had to remove was the plastic cover that goes over the u joints on the lower end.
