Did you have the opti apart before you put it on to make sure the rotor was in there? And you did hook up the plug wires correctly, right?

noz 05-27-2010 01:14 AM

to be honest with you i didnt check if the rotor was there, i already tripple check the wires i got spark going in and some sparks coming out at times so tha makes me believe the optis is complete its sounds really healthy as im crancking but it just wont fire,

What year is yours? You didn't force the thing on the engine by drawing it down with the mounting bolts? You got it to slip on nice and easy before bolting it down?

noz 05-27-2010 01:27 AM

yea man i really makesure on tha one my cousing did it first i wasnt there and just to makesure i took it out and slap it back in again to be completely satisfy i had my engine out at the time so i had a nice view and it went smothly didnt force the thing at all

how much did you pay for it? this could be a clue... can you send it back?

noz 05-28-2010 03:28 AM

its a 95 z28 ," dam im so lucky" i pay 350 for it i thought of returning the opti but first i took the thing out and i open the optispark i couldnt belive this, 1 of the 2 bolts tha hold the rotor was COMPLETELY OUT the thing was hanging good thing i catch it ontime everytime the thing was spinning it was eating the plastic on the rotor too i bolt in the rotor nice and tight and its PERFECT

Lucky, you dodged that bullet! When I did my MSD opti, I removed the cap to check everything inside even though it was new. You can never be too sure, being new doesn't always mean it's right. I also wanted it apart to make sure the rotor lined up like the old one did, and so I could also put RTV on the opti to seal the cap back on.
