oil pump gear

hello all, i've had a problem with the drive gear for the oil pump. it been eating up twice now in the last year. do you guys think i have to replace the cam? its a 95 camaro z28 lt4 hot cam, headman headers, magna flow cat back, k&n air indution system, lt4 knock sensor, 1.6 rockers, behive springs, and a tune.

A real Lt4 cam from GM should be compatible with the stock pump gear. However you should be able to get sturdier after market gears from shops selling speed equipment.

check the wear on your cam and lifters to see if there centered.
