Oil pressure / Idle question.

Are those who are saying that's normal also have only 29k miles on their engine? At or below 20 is "normal" for an engine that has a bit of miles and wear. There are some exceptions, like with my LT1 with 106k on the clock doesn't go below 30 psi. That's with using 10w40 oil though, which will likely make a positive difference on yours. And I don't run 10w40 in the winter. I'd stop sweating it, and see what you get in the summer with using some higher viscosity oil.
From what I have read the Mobil 1 5W30 is very thin so maybe I will try a different brand 5W30 next change and see what happens.

Oil viscosity is the same throughout the brands.
Following the OEM's Owner's Manual instructions doesn't hurt.
But, it doesn't hurt to try 10W30.
You have to remember, thinner oil uses less power to pump the oil, more MPG, just the way the OEM designed it, any OEM.

From everything I have read Mobil 1 5w30 is on the thin end of the 30 weight spec, close to 20 weight?

Body shop mechanic thinks car is misfiring a little, not sure if that can be contributing to the oil pressure? Just starting to get into it so not sure what is causing the misfire (new opti 2010, new plugs and wires 3 weeks ago).
Could this all be as simple as clogged air filter or bad mass air flow sensor? When I had the oil changed the guy couldnt figure out how to get it out to clean it so I told him just leave it (planning on getting cold air intake anyway). If it has been sitting who knows how much gunk is up in there??

Yeah very dirty filter or dirty sensor can have that effect on how well the engine runs, but not the oil pressure.
lol, if the guy can't figure that out, it was best to have him keep his hands off your car.

I mean the oil express guy couldnt get the air filter out and I had no faith in him not to break it....body shop mechanic I hope is more qualified than oil express "tech".
