im 15 and i just got a 1997 Z28 for my birthday and i want to get around 400 horse out of it and i was wonderin if i could do it under 2 grand

 

Depends if you want 400 horses at the wheels or at the engine. Cheapest way would be to go the nitrous route, and keep the car basically stock. Otherwise you will need some serious engine work, such as head porting, camshaft replacement, plus all the bolt on stuff, and I don't think 2G will cover it.

 

i wanted to get like 400 horse out of the engine and ive heard of a couple of packages like the LT4 heads and cam packages or just porting the LT1 heads but i wasn't to sure what to do, but here is the list of what i was lookin at

a new 58 mm throttle body
LT4 heads and cam
hooker headers
borla cat-back eshaust
cold air induction
roller rockers
and a shift kit

i just want kind of like a sleeper that is really packed in the engine

and i was just wondering if i could do all of this and keep it smog legal in california

 

Don't forget the LT4 intake manifold for the Lt4 heads. Add all the parts toghether and 2G won't cover the cost.

 

2 grand will not cover the LT4 package man go with NOS its all the horse u need when ever u need them as long as u got a full bottle and 2g is more than enough for everything
