new cam
so i bought a new cam and it is a fairly common one just one question what is so significant about a lobe seperation angle of 114 what does it mean and what effects does it have on the sound and/or performance if any

Lobe separation is self explanatory in it's name. It's the number of degrees the intake/exhaust lobes are separated. A higher LSA will give you a smoother cam, the car will idle better and it will be more streetable. A lower LSA will give you a more "lopey" cam, but the car isn't going to be as streetable. The benefit to a lower LSA is you have a higher valve overlap period on the cam, so you can make more HP in the top end, but you sacrifice low end torque and drivability. The stock cam in your LT1 has 117* LSA, the stock cam in an LT4 had 114* LSA.
